Personal/Family:
Effie G. Alexander was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio, where she graduated from Steubenville High School in 1978. She currently resides in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania with her husband, Paul LaQuatra and their two daughters, Isabella and Elena.

Legal Practice:
Effie is a partner in the law firm Reich, Alexander & Demas. Effie has focused her legal career in the family law field for over 18 years. As the head of the family law division of her law firm, she oversees the most complicated aspects of the firm's support and child custody matters, as well as divorce and equitable distribution issues.
Effie began her career with the law firm of Spon & Fournier in Steubenville, Ohio, where she worked in a general practice firm. In 1986, she began employment with Samuel J. Reich & Associates. By 1987, Effie was concentrating her practice in the area of family law and related issues.
Effie is admitted to practice in the following courts: the United States Supreme Court; the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania; Supreme and Superior Courts of Pennsylvania and Ohio Supreme Court. Effie is also licensed in the state of Ohio, where she was admitted in 1986.
Professional Affiliations and Activities:
Effie is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, as well as the Allegheny County Bar Association and its Family Law Section. She is currently serving on council of the Family Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association. She previously served on the Ethics Committee of the Family Law Section.
Civic and Community Activities:
For the past seven years, Effie has served on the Board of Directors for the Center for Theater Arts, a non-profit performing arts school in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Effie is also actively involved in the fundraising activities of the DePaul Institute, an oral/deaf school. Effie is fluent in the Greek language (reading, writing as well speaking) and assists with the Greek school of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church.
